ATP Student Using ForeFlight iPad

iPad CoursewareTrain Using the Latest Technology

When you train with ATP, you train using the latest technology. Your iPad gives you access to courseware, charts and approach plates, and test prep that you'll use in training. Airlines use electronic charts in their flight decks, and you'll use them during your pilot training.

Required iPad

ATP requires students to have an iPad with WiFi + Cellular. You will need the latest version of iOS installed.

Cellular is required because it provides the GPS receiver for ForeFlight and improves situational awareness. You do not have to activate a cellular data plan to use the GPS, but you will likely find cellular data to be very convenient when needing to access data on the ramp and away from a WiFi signal.

ATP recommends the small to medium sized ipad, which balance ease of studying with a practical size for use in the airplane. Pick whichever model you like best. Please note that ForeFlight no longer supports the iPad 1, 2, 3, and 4, iPad Air 1, iPad mini 1, 2, and 3, iPhone 5, 5C, 5s, 6, 6+, and older for new app updates.
