Training Policies
Start Date Changes or Cancellations
Your first non-refundable payment of $995 made at the time of scheduling guarantees your position in a class for a specific combination of start date, training center and program. If you must reschedule for a different date, training center, or program, you will forfeit this payment and be required to make another $995 payment to secure the new class date at the current price.
Attendance Policy
As a student, you are responsible for regularly attending training events and making your best effort to complete training within the time frame of the program. If you are unable to meet the participation requirements and you wish to resume training after a long period of inactivity, ATP may increase the price of your program to the current price.
Fast Track programs require your availability for training seven days a week, for a minimum of eight hours each day. This level of availability is necessary to meet the completion time frame of the program. Students who cannot meet the availability requirement of a Fast Track program may switch to a Self-Paced program at an additional cost as described on ATPFlightSchool.com.
Self-Paced programs require your availability at least ten days per month, for a minimum of eight hours each day. Special accommodations may be made for students who cannot devote eight consecutive hours to training each day, but students must devote at least 80 hours of availability to training each month. The CFI portion of the Airline Career Pilot Program will require at least 14 consecutive days at a designated CFI Program training center. Self-Paced students must maintain an accurate calendar of availability on Student Extranet, in accordance with this attendance policy, so your instructor can maximize your training time.
If you are unable to meet the requirements of this attendance policy, ATP may either terminate your training program, or impose a price increase if your program was started at a cost below advertised prices.
Student Preparedness Policy
You must arrive well-prepared for each lesson. This means that you will arrive with all reading assignments complete, all videos watched, and home study work complete.
Lesson No-Show / Late Cancellation Policy
At ATP’s sole discretion, ATP may impose a $50 charge per lesson for which you no-show, cancel with insufficient advance notice, arrive late, or arrive unprepared. ATP considers adequate advance notice to be at least 24 hours before the lesson’s scheduled start time. Cross-country flights scheduled by ATP Flight Operations require the same notice.
If you are scheduled for an FTD lesson or flight training event, and weather or maintenance become a factor, you are still expected to arrive on-time for training. Your instructor will decide the appropriate course of action which may include substituting the planned lesson with another suitable to the conditions.
ATP understands that extenuating circumstances do occur, and will allow exceptions to this policy at its sole discretion. Any time your account incurs a cancellation fee, payment must be received before any further training will be scheduled.
Refund Policy
It’s simple and ethical: you or ATP reserves the right to terminate your training at any time, making you (or a designated lending source) eligible for a pro-rated refund which will be issued within 15 days following program termination.
ATP’s refund policy quickly accommodates students who elect to discontinue the program for any reason. It is important to receive your refund in an expeditious manner so you can use the funds to continue your flight training at another school, repay a loan, or cover emergency needs.
ATP is the only flight school or academy that offers this level of protection.
Fast Track / Self-Paced Change Policy
You may change your pace of training one time without forfeiting your $995 non-refundable first payment. You must notify your primary instructor and ATP’s Training Department (training@allatps.com or 800-255-2877) of your intention to change training pace before beginning the cross-country phase of the program.
Fast Track to Self-Paced Conversion
If you are a Fast Track Airline Career Pilot Program student, you may convert to Self-Paced training at additional cost, and only before beginning the cross-country phase. The cost increase from Fast Track to Self-Paced training will be charged based on your percentage of program logged time remaining (flight and FTD time). For example, if you have logged 97 of your program’s 165 hours, then you will be responsible for 41% ([165-97]/165) of the $5,000 cost increase, or $2,050. This amount will be distributed across your remaining payment schedule.
Self-Paced to Fast Track Conversions
If you are a Self-Paced Airline Career Pilot Program student, you may convert to Fast Track training and receive a credit based on your percentage of program flight time remaining. To be eligible for the credit, you must:
- Convert to Fast Track training before the cross-country phase.
- Demonstrate that you can meet the payment schedule of the Fast Track program. Any required financing arrangements must be finalized before you switch.
- Maintain a Fast Track training schedule. This requires your availability seven-days-a-week. ATP reserves the right to use discretion and professional judgement in determining whether or not you meet Fast Track availability requirements throughout the remainder of your training.
For example, if you have logged 97 of your program’s 165 hours, then you will be eligible for 41% ([165-97]/165) of the $5,000 cost decrease, or $2,050. This credit will be applied to your remaining payment schedule, and then any remaining balance on account will be refunded to you or a designated lending source.
