Dear Paul:

I am writing to commend your company on your outstanding Regional Jet
Standards Certification Program. I completed training and IOE with
ExpressJet Airlines in July of last year. I cannot tell you how happy I
was that I went through your program. The pace of training at a
regional airline is unforgiving, and your course gave me the knowledge
to keep up with the pace while others struggled.

Most of the people in my class were just like me, transitioning from
pistons to jets. There were three of us who had taken the CRJ course at
ATP and we were all amazed at how much the course really helped. During
class, questions always come up about systems we never used while we
were instructing, such as air conditioning, autopilots and
pressurization. Every time someone asked a question, it seemed like we
had asked the same question before in the CRJ program.

During the CRJ program, we were introduced to 'flows' for checklists.
This was an entirely new concept and I struggled with it at first.
However, when we stared sim sessions at the airline, everything was a
flow and it seemed only natural. The awkward transition to this new
type of flying was done in the ATP sim without the added pressure of
having your job on the line if you get it wrong.

The one thing everyone struggles with is the FMS. Going from a Garmin
430 to an airline FMS is a huge transition. Learning all the various
pages, entries, and programming was difficult to say the least. Having
had an introductory course during the CRJ program was a life saver. Not
only did I understand the basics, but I was able to help others in my
class grasp the concept during our computer sessions.

The CRJ course offered by ATP was invaluable to my getting and keeping
an airline job. It was such a relief to have the prior knowledge of
systems and flows going into the training rather than learning at an
airline pace. I was able to concentrate on the application of the
concepts rather than struggling with the basics. I would recommend this
course to anyone thinking about an airline career. It made the
difference in keeping my airline job.

Sincerely,
Steven Ohl
