Non U.S. Citizens who are NOT Permanent Residents - Obtaining/Converting M-1 Visa
ATP accepts international flight training students for enrollment into many of our Airline Training Programs. If you are a citizen of a foreign country, and wish to enter the United States for the purpose of training in one of our Airline Training Programs you will need an M-1 Visa to enter and/or conduct training in the United States.
Obtaining
If you are not a permanent resident of the U.S., you will need an M-1 Visa to enter the United States to conduct flight training at ATP. The process is quick, and involves the following steps:
- Complete our I-20 Information Form and return along with a copy of bank statement that shows funds sufficient to support your program and living expenses, along with a copy of your passport
- Contact us to advise which training program and location you seek and place deposit to book your desired training program
Converting
If you already possess an M-1 Visa sponsored by another school, and it's still within the first 6 months of issuance, you can transfer that Visa over to ATP so that you can continue training with us. The process is quick, and involves the following steps:
- Contact our admissions office and we’ll send you a “Letter of Acceptance” into our training program. (You will need to send us copies of your Passport, Visa, I-94, and Proof of Financial Responsibility)
- Take the “Letter of Acceptance” to the SEVIS coordinating official at your current school and tell them you would like to “Transfer Out” in the SEVIS computer System
- Our SEVIS coordinating official will select your name for “Transfer In” to ATP
- We'll send you a new I-20 along with form I-539 for you to complete
- You will send in the completed I-539 along with the required documents and fee and begin training with ATP
